On today’s Inside Xbox from E3, Joe Neate made an appearance to chat with Major Nelson about Sea of Thieves.
As part of the show, Joe announced that the game has now had 8.4 million unique players.
He also mentioned that over 2 million unique players have played the game in the time since the Anniversary Update.
Here is a summary of all the announced player milestones:
- 1 million players was reached in 48 hours
- 2 million players was reached in 1 week
- 4 million players was announced in June 2018
- 5 million players was announced in July 2018
- 8.4 million players was reached in June 2019
While Sea of Thieves still feels like it has a fairly niche community, it’s very encouraging to see the player base continuing to solidify over time.
If you’re excited about the game and want a good reason to bring new pirates to the seas, Game Pass Ultimate is currently $1 and buying the game outright is just $25.
